I muz say. bintan's nirwana resorts is a really lousy place to hold a church camp. the staff there are friendly and the beach and swimming pool are ok, but the service is lousy and the stuff there expensive. imagine waiting like 4 hours to get a room. and then having sub standard food being served in the restaurant. i wished they held it at desaru instead. the resort there is much nicer and the beach cleaner and the water clearer than in bintan. and the service is better, items cheaper and the hotel staff are friendlier. and the price for a room is lower and even with better service. and their rooms are in a shabby condition. the pillows are too soft. air con does't work tt well, the toilet lacks the proper toiletries, there's no ash tray, the resort directory is all torn up and barely helpful(and it keeps repeating information over and over), the windows can't be opened, the kettle for boiling water is so small, there's no room safe and the main door can't be properly locked, unless you pull it shut tight. i tink i'd juz gif it a rating of (barely) 3 stars.


what i did at bintan (in this order): wake up, bathe, lunch, beach, swimming pool, beach, bathe, dinner, sermon, swim, bathe, play laptop/ps2/drink vodka+coke/visit other pple's rooms, sleep. it was real boring coz she wasn't there. though last day kym asked me to go kayaking with her. it was fun, coz kym hardly has any frens in church and yupz, glad to haf talked to her and gotten to noe her b4 she leaves for australia to study. and i found out she's only 16 and she's finished her o levels already. omg. but she's lucky coz she was born on the 1st of january. and was given the choice to study with those born a year b4 or to take it with those born in her year. wish i was tt lucky. then i'd still e 17 this year and taking poly. but to sum it all up, bintan totally sucks as a tourist attraction. they should totally wake up their bloody idea before promoting themselves as a great tourist resort and attraction. i wonder why people sill go there even though it sucks. i tink even downtown east is better than nirwana resorts. for the people who book the more expensive suites or chalets, there's better services provided. but to those tt book those cheaper ones, its like the service standards are so different. showing such obvious biasness in their line of profession will only cause their inevitable downfall. so i can safely say that bintan sucks as a tourist destination, no matter what the newspapers and travel guides say. its just that they have the money to advertise from the amount of money they accumulate from overcharging the tourists that stay there. and if u want my opinion if you're planning on vacationing to a place with a nice beach, i recommend langkawi or desaru. its seriously much better than bintan and a whole lot more value for money and superiority.
